Created Issue: TextOffset and ImageOffset properties for pinImageSpecification

Hello! I'm using VIEWS wrapper with Virtual Earth 3D map. I'm in trouble using TextOffset and ImageOffset properties of pinImageSpecification properties. Trying to set TextOffset property via VEPixel object I get error message from IE or Firefox pointing to this lines in my code. I don't see any other ways to move textContent on my CustomIcon in 3D mode. Is here any bugs or I make some mistake using TextOffset and ImageOffset properties?

We need to update VIEWS to support Silverlight RTM. At the same time, we should attempt to add Virtual Earth 6.2 features.

Created Issue: PanEnded and PanStarted events are switched

My application yielded some unexpected results when I tried to handle the PanEnded event. The EventName variable in the VEMapEventArgs showed that the event was "onpanstarted" instead of "onpanended".
I've tracked this to an error in the VEMap.cs file where the methods for OnPanStarted and OnPanEnded call the wrong events.
For now I've changed the event handler but it would be nice to see this fixed as it can cause a lot of confusion (trust me, I know ;-)
Shouldn't be a very hard fix.

Hi,
I am new to VIEWS. Here is something that I observed the behavior of the existing VIEWS application.

When the popup is displayed, clicking on the popup works fine. but when we come back to map and try to click someother pushpin to see the popup,

It shows the error "unknown exception" at silverlightPopup.content.popup.ShowPopup(this); of popup.js file.

This bug is actually a Silverlight bug. What is happening is that Silverlight unloads the silverlight instance if you click on the popup to dismiss it. If you simply mouse off the popup, it works fine. I don't know exactly why this happens, but fell free to bug the Silverlight team about it, as I have verified that it is their bug/design. I was hoping it would be fixed in Beta 2, but apparently not.

There is no way of setting the Line and Fill of VEShape objects.
THis is needed to customize the look of polygons and also to set them to not show is using Custom Icons.

This is actually by design. VEShape is a subclass, you should be using VEPolygon if the shape is a polygon, or VEPushPin for a PushPin. Only the methods that can actually be legally called are available on each type. Just cast VEShape to the actual shape you need, and everything will be available. Look at the sample for casts to VEPushPin for an example.

Here are the repro steps for the same:
1. Load the map. Add the pins using Find method, let's say United States and Australia.
2. Click on the pin 'United States', popup is displayed.
3. Click on the popup(any click right or left will work).
4. Back again on the map, click on pin 'Australia' or 'United States'.

Expected Result:
Display the Popup

Actual Result:
'Unknown Exception' is displayed.

There is no way of setting the Line and Fill of VEShape objects.
THis is needed to customize the look of polygons and also to set them to not show is using Custom Icons.

When creating a custom icon for a shape layer, the Anchor point needs to be set otherwise the default will place the custom icons top left corner in the center

I'm new to this - so I'm hoping this is the right place to report a potential issue. I seem to be getting discrepancies between match codes and precision codes returned between the FindCompletedEventArgs.VEPlaces object and the comparable object returned when the address search is executed straight from Javascript. Let me know if more explanantion is needed...

Closed Issue: Does the wrapper work with Firefox

I have encountered two problems in using the VE Wrapper for Silverlight.

First: I cannot get it to display the map when viewing with Firefox. I have created a very simple application which demonstrates this problem and placed it at http://www.lamartinsoftware.com/SilverlightVEWrapperTest/

Second: If I have Script Debugging enabled in Internet explorer, I occasionally receive the error message " 'null' is null or not an object" when I click on the map (in a much more complicated application), and there is no way to get out of the "Do you want to Debug....." loop other than to stop the IE application in Task Manager. If Script Debugging is disabled, everything works fine.

I use VS 2008, and have captured the offending code, which is "var g=c". The file is mapcontrol.ashx?v=6.1, and is generated on the fly by VS.

VIEWS does work fine in FireFox - you can see this at http://theamazingalbumcoveratlas.org/ which uses VIEWS. However I have tried your test page and can see that the map is not showing - I would guess that this is to do with CSS rather than VIEWS - could you check the styles and see if there are the problem there?

Regarding the JS error message - this is the VEMap that is throwing the error, and is not directly related to VIEWS. I have seen this on sites that just use VE with js. Hopefully it will be fixed with the next update to VE, but at the moment, I don't think there is anything we can do in regard to VIEWS.

Closed Issue: Shape.Id throws InvalidCastException

After creating a shape and adding it to a layer, if you try to access the Id property you get the following exception:

System.InvalidCastException was unhandled by user code
Message="Invalid cast from 'System.String' to 'System.Windows.Browser.ScriptObject'."

Also need to add the following to views.js:

Created Issue: map.GetDirections invokes js method GetDirections but js Method is name GetDirectionsJs

In views.js there is no "GetDirections" function only "GetDirectionsJS", however the map.GetDirections methods invoke "GetDirections"

It needs to be changed either in map.cs or views.js
